I'm Nanesse*, and Tchantchès* is my sidekick. Tchantchès is a native of Liège, and I'm a recent arrival to the city. English is my first language and French is his, though we speak both languages daily.
One day Tchantchès and I realized that life mustn't be quite as rich for those coming to Liège who don't know 'someone on the inside', or who have little French to work with. It was from this that the idea for Looking up Liège was born.
We're hoping the articles we'll add here over time will help English-speakers to get more out of their time in Liège, be they residents or visitors.
Of course we're not experts, but the idea is to try and grow a base of articles that will help visitors and new arrivals get to know Liège a little better, and perhaps help us to get to know it even better along the way! If you have any ideas or suggestions, we'd love to hear from you.
